On Saturday, October 4, Andrija Mohorovičić High School in Rijeka will launch an international project with partner schools from Germany, France and Portugal (initiators), focusing on environmental topics.
The school will host
students and teachers from the three school participating in the project MORE:
Mission for Ocean, Respect and Ecology. The project will address issues related to
ecology and climate changes. The Rijeka segment of the project, titled Biodiversity,
Coast and Seas – Climate Changes and Our Responsibility (MORE), will take place from October 4 to October 11.

A group of 18 students will visit Rijeka, accompanied by teachers Felix Engemann, Predrag Paunković, Bénédicte Hautbois, Vanessa Wattel, Carmen Figueira, and Lígia Martins.

GAM students who are generously hosting our guests. The host students are:

Horvat, Lorena Kovačević, Nina Livić, Kira Medošević, Lara Mohović, Dejan
Momić, Petar Preglej, Lana Rašević, Lena Scheidl, Paolo Šiljac, Mia Skender,
Ivano Sudulić, Maša Šverko, Karlo Vučak, and Ana Zamarin.
We believe this unique experience with peers from Germany, France, and Portugal will be unforgettable for everyone involved.
The program is rich and diverse, including workshops
and activities focusing on ecology, language learning, international
cooperation, critical thinking, and creativity. Students will also be encouraged
to take an active role in their communities.
During the week participants will:
– Learn about climate change at the Natural History
Museum Rijeka and the Faculty of Civil Engineering
– Visit Bakar with the support of the local Tourist Board
and explore environmental challenges
– Meet and care for sea turtles at a rehabilitation
center in Pula.

GAM teachers will offer open classes in foreign languages, Physics, and a Croatian language workshop. With support from host families, they will introduce guests to the beauty of Rijeka and Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. The week will conclude with a group hike and a farewell dinner.

Students have also contributed to preparing for the project. Ante Vučemilović-Šimunović, together with IT teachers Višnja Pešut and Goran Boneta, created school souvenirs. Tiziana Tončinić and Leona Pahljina decorated the school bulletin board,
while Una Mastrović and Iva Barbalić designed welcome flyers. Tin Karešin translated the famous rock song Učinimo nešto into English so our guests could understand it. Lana Rašević is preparing a recital of Tin Karešin's translation, while the Choir of GAM and PRHG will perform songs that proudly represent our region. We are still finalizing sponsorships, which will be announced in the final version of the program. At that time, we will also express our gratitude to the institutions and presenters who have supported us in making the project possible.

project and publish updates and impressions on the official website.
We hope our guests enjoy their stay and return to
our beautiful region in the future.
